This is the story of not one but
many students around the world who fail to make this professional realization sooner.
The result is loss, both financial and personal. A career choice is not one
that can be made lightly. It requires a lot of thought unless you are already
aware of your propensities and know you can do something. Before you make a
choice, consider the following tips (compiled by the Nixon University Career
Center):
- Do some soul searching. Find out what your strengths and weaknesses are. Find out what you are good at. This way, you will be able to judge better what you can and can’t do.
- Choose a field that matches your abilities. There’s no point in trying to become a cryptographer when you are bad at math and complex logic. Unless you can really change that, look for other options no matter how attractive the other may seem.
- Do a little research about the field you are considering pursuing your career in. It will give you a good idea about what kind of jobs and opportunities you can expect in it.
At Nixon University, students are
always encouraged to ask for career-related advice from the counselors who are
always available to guide the students in the best way. Such tips are useful in
saving time and as well as making you think twice before you make a wrong
choice that will result in loss.
