Nixon University personnel wished everyone a very happy and peaceful International Day of Peace. To our alumni belonging to various parts of the world, we hope you all are celebrating this day in true spirit keeping the essence of the day in mind.
Today, the
entire world is celebrating the International Day of Peace. The 21st
of September officially announced as the International Day of Peace by the UN
GENERAL Assembly in 2002. Since then, people all over the world express their
feelings of goodwill and peace. Celebrations can be anything, from a festival
to the simple act of singing peace songs together and expressing solidarity with
each other.
To Nixon
University students residing in New York City, we hope you felt the thrill of
excitement hearing the Peace Bell toll. It is quite a thing to behold and that
which brings to mind the lives lost in war and the negative impacts it has on
human life. Nixon University encourages its students to take active parts in
demonstration, festivals and other activities on this day so that we all may
observe this day of peace together.
The International Day of Peace of the year 2013 has been dedicated to peace education by the UN Secretary General in an effort to encourage a culture of peace in people from an early age and make them aware about the benefits and importance of peace in today’s world. Nixon University, being a leading educational institute, fully supports this initiative and hopes it can contribute to the peace education of its students no matter which part o the world they may be in.
